Reports

Reports are written by Occupational Therapists for many reasons including for the purpose of NDIS plan reviews, OT progress report and review, provide a clear description of recommendations for treatment, document a specific challenge or condition and the child's requirements across many environments so that everyone is aware on any adaptations to be made to support this child in accessing and engaging in their occupational activities, tasks and environments.

Our Process

An Occupational Therapy process that puts you first enables us to provide the most effective treatment and work collaboratively with you to produce clearly defined goals and interventions.

Assessments

Assessments are a vital stage of our process in order to gather important information and have a baseline of your child's performance. Assessments provided may be both standardised and semi-standardised or non-standardised meaning either formal or non-formal. Some reasons we may conduct assessments include:

  • To naturally observe the child in their natural environments whether home, preschool or school

  • To identify any challenges or difficulties in a child's occupational performance

  • To prioritise challenges and difficulties in goals

  • To observe social relationships and understand how these impact occupational activity engagement

In our Initial Occupational Therapy session we will review a parent/carer questionnaire and get to know your child which will allow us to create a therapy plan in moving forward. Some typical childhood activities include handwriting, dressing, tying shoe laces, fine and gross motor play movements and more. We may even be looking at their general developmental milestones and ensuring they are reaching these goals within reason.
